महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-94, verse-60

अग्निहोत्रं त्रयो वेदा यज्ञाश्च सहदक्षिणाः ।
सर्वाण्येतान्यपत्यस्य कलां नार्हन्ति षोडशीम् ॥६०॥
60. agnihotraṁ trayo vedā yajñāśca sahadakṣiṇāḥ ,
sarvāṇyetānyapatyasya kalāṁ nārhanti ṣoḍaśīm.
60. agnihotram trayaḥ vedāḥ yajñāḥ ca saha-dakṣiṇāḥ
sarvāṇi etāni apatyasya kalām na arhanti ṣoḍaśīm
60. The Agnihotra ritual, the three Vedas, and yagyas complete with their sacrificial fees – all these together do not amount to a sixteenth part of what an offspring represents.
