महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-1, chapter-94, verse-26

जातमात्रं पुरा दृष्टं तं पुत्रं शंतनुस्तदा ।
नोपलेभे स्मृतिं धीमानभिज्ञातुं तमात्मजम् ॥२६॥
26. jātamātraṁ purā dṛṣṭaṁ taṁ putraṁ śaṁtanustadā ,
nopalebhe smṛtiṁ dhīmānabhijñātuṁ tamātmajam.
26. jātamātram purā dṛṣṭam tam putram śaṃtanuḥ tadā
na upalebe smṛtim dhīmān abhijñātum tam ātmajam
26. Though he had seen that son previously, when he was just born, the wise Shantanu at that time could not regain the memory to recognize his own son.
