योगवासिष्ठः       yogavāsiṣṭhaḥ - book-3, chapter-81, verse-32

तमस्त्वं तमसो देहमविनाशयतामुना ।
तप्यतेऽभासया भासा सर्वमाभास्यते तमः ॥ ३२ ॥
tamastvaṃ tamaso dehamavināśayatāmunā ,
tapyate'bhāsayā bhāsā sarvamābhāsyate tamaḥ 32

tapyate abhāsayā bhāsā sarvam ābhāsyate tamaḥ

32. Darkness (tamas) is truly the very body of darkness. It is not destroyed by that [supreme consciousness]. [Rather], it is manifested by a light that does not itself shine, and all darkness is made apparent.
