मार्कण्डेय उवाच ।
इत्युक्त्वा दुः सहं ब्रह्मा तत्रैवान्तरधीयत ।
चकार शासनं सोऽपि तथा पङ्कजजन्मनः ॥९७॥

ityuktvā duḥ sahaṃ brahmā tatraivāntaradhīyata .
cakāra śāsanaṃ so'pi tathā paṅkajajanmanaḥ.

Markandeya said: Having thus delivered that unbearable command, Brahma disappeared right there. And she (Alakshmi) also carried out the instruction of the lotus-born (Brahma) accordingly.
