महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-114, verse-92

धनंजयस्तथा यान्तं पृष्ठतो द्रौणिमभ्ययात् ।
नातिदीर्घमिवाध्वानं शरैः संत्रासयन्बलम् ॥९२॥
92. dhanaṁjayastathā yāntaṁ pṛṣṭhato drauṇimabhyayāt ,
nātidīrghamivādhvānaṁ śaraiḥ saṁtrāsayanbalam.

na atidīrgham iva adhvānam śarāiḥ saṃtrāsayant balam
92. tathā dhanaṃjayaḥ pṛṣṭhataḥ yāntam drauṇim śarāiḥ
balam saṃtrāsayant na atidīrgham adhvānam iva abhyayāt
92. Thus, Arjuna pursued Drauni from behind as he retreated, terrifying the army with his arrows, effectively allowing him no great distance to cover.
