महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-114, verse-57

तदस्य कुरवः सर्वे चारणाश्चाभ्यपूजयन् ।
यदियेष रथात्कर्णं हन्तुं तार्क्ष्य इवोरगम् ॥५७॥

57. tadasya kuravaḥ sarve cāraṇāścābhyapūjayan ,
yadiyeṣa rathātkarṇaṁ hantuṁ tārkṣya ivoragam.

yat iyeṣa rathāt karṇam hantum tārkṣyaḥ iva uragam

57. sarve kuravaḥ ca cāraṇāḥ tat asya yat rathāt karṇam

57. All the Kurus and the celestial bards praised him because he intended to strike Karna from his chariot, just as Garuda (Tārkṣya) would strike a snake.
