महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-61, verse-13

नाभूमिपतिना भूमिरधिष्ठेया कथंचन ।
न वा पात्रेण वा गूहेदन्तर्धानेन वा चरेत् ।
ये चान्ये भूमिमिच्छेयुः कुर्युरेवमसंशयम् ॥१३॥

13. nābhūmipatinā bhūmiradhiṣṭheyā kathaṁcana ,
na vā pātreṇa vā gūhedantardhānena vā caret ,
ye cānye bhūmimiccheyuḥ kuryurevamasaṁśayam.

13. na abhūmipatinā bhūmiḥ adhiṣṭheyā
kathaṃcana na vā pātreṇa vā gūhet
antardhānena vā caret ye ca anye
bhūmim iccheyuḥ kuryuḥ evam asaṃśayam

13. No land should ever be possessed by one who is not its rightful owner. Nor should one conceal (land that should be given) from a worthy recipient, nor hide it (for oneself), nor act in any other improper way. And those others who wish to obtain land should undoubtedly act in this manner.
