महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-61, verse-44

यथा बीजानि रोहन्ति प्रकीर्णानि महीतले ।
तथा कामाः प्ररोहन्ति भूमिदानसमार्जिताः ॥४४॥
44. yathā bījāni rohanti prakīrṇāni mahītale ,
tathā kāmāḥ prarohanti bhūmidānasamārjitāḥ.

44. yathā prakīrṇāni bījāni mahītale rohanti,

44. Just as seeds, when scattered upon the earth's surface, sprout and grow, so too do the desires that are acquired through the gift of land (bhūmidāna) flourish.
