महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-61, verse-92

अक्षयं च भवेद्दत्तं पितृभ्यस्तन्न संशयः ।
तस्माच्छ्राद्धेष्विदं विप्रो भुञ्जतः श्रावयेद्द्विजान् ॥९२॥
92. akṣayaṁ ca bhaveddattaṁ pitṛbhyastanna saṁśayaḥ ,
tasmācchrāddheṣvidaṁ vipro bhuñjataḥ śrāvayeddvijān.
92. akṣayam ca bhavet dattam pitṛbhyaḥ tat na saṃśayaḥ
tasmāt śrāddheṣu idam vipraḥ bhuñjataḥ śrāvayet dvijān
92. ca pitṛbhyaḥ dattam akṣayam bhavet tat na saṃśayaḥ
tasmāt vipraḥ śrāddheṣu bhuñjataḥ dvijān idam śrāvayet
92. And what is given to the ancestors (pitṛs) would be imperishable; there is no doubt about that. Therefore, a Brahmin (vipra) should recite this (eulogy) to the twice-born (dvijas) while they are eating at ancestral rituals (śrāddhas).
