महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-61, verse-30

यथा चन्द्रमसो वृद्धिरहन्यहनि जायते ।

30. Just as the moon's growth occurs day by day, so too a gift (dāna) of land increases with every successive crop.
