महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-61, verse-66

अपि कृत्वा नरः पापं भूमिं दत्त्वा द्विजातये ।
समुत्सृजति तत्पापं जीर्णां त्वचमिवोरगः ॥६६॥
66. api kṛtvā naraḥ pāpaṁ bhūmiṁ dattvā dvijātaye ,
samutsṛjati tatpāpaṁ jīrṇāṁ tvacamivoragaḥ.
66. api kṛtvā naraḥ pāpam bhūmim dattvā dvijātaye
samutsṛjati tat pāpam jīrṇām tvacam iva uragaḥ
66. api naraḥ pāpam kṛtvā dvijātaye bhūmim dattvā
uragaḥ jīrṇām tvacam iva tat pāpam samutsṛjati
66. Even having committed a sin (pāpam), a man, by giving land to a brahmin (dvijātaye), sheds that sin just as a snake sheds its worn-out skin.
