मातरं पितरं वृद्धमाचार्यमतिथिं गुरुम् ।
गुरुवन्नाभ्यनन्दन्त कुमारान्नान्वपालयन् ॥५५॥

55. mātaraṁ pitaraṁ vṛddhamācāryamatithiṁ gurum ,
guruvannābhyanandanta kumārānnānvapālayan.

55. They neither honored their mother, father, elders, preceptors, guests, or spiritual guides (guru) as one would honor a guru, nor did they protect the young (kumāra).
