महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-221, verse-65

ये च वेदविदो विप्रा विस्पष्टमनृचश्च ये ।
निरन्तरविशेषास्ते बहुमानावमानयोः ॥६५॥
65. ye ca vedavido viprā vispaṣṭamanṛcaśca ye ,
nirantaraviśeṣāste bahumānāvamānayoḥ.

ye | nirantaraviśeṣāḥ te bahumānāvamānayoḥ
65. ye ca vedavidaḥ viprāḥ ca ye vispaṣṭam

65. Those Brahmins (viprāḥ) who were knowers of the Vedas, and those who were clearly ignorant of them, became indistinguishable in matters of great honor and dishonor.
