तत्र वेदविदः प्राज्ञा गाम्भीर्ये सागरोपमाः ।
कृष्यादिष्वभवन्सक्ता मूर्खाः श्राद्धान्यभुञ्जत ॥७३॥

kṛṣyādiṣvabhavansaktā mūrkhāḥ śrāddhānyabhuñjata.

73. There, the wise ones, knowledgeable in the Vedas and profound like the ocean, became engrossed in agriculture and similar pursuits. Meanwhile, the fools consumed the offerings (śrāddha) meant for ancestral rites.
