मित्रेणाभ्यर्थितं मित्रमर्थे संशयिते क्वचित् ।
वालकोट्यग्रमात्रेण स्वार्थेनाघ्नत तद्वसु ॥६९॥

69. mitreṇābhyarthitaṁ mitramarthe saṁśayite kvacit ,
vālakoṭyagramātreṇa svārthenāghnata tadvasu.

69. When a friend was approached by another friend concerning a dubious matter, people would, for personal gain as small as a hair's tip, betray that friend's trust or welfare.
