महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-290, verse-62

तमःकूर्मं रजोमीनं प्रज्ञया संतरन्त्युत ।
स्नेहपङ्कं जरादुर्गं स्पर्शद्वीपमरिंदम ॥६२॥
62. tamaḥkūrmaṁ rajomīnaṁ prajñayā saṁtarantyuta ,
snehapaṅkaṁ jarādurgaṁ sparśadvīpamariṁdama.
62. tamaḥkūrmam rajomīnam prajñayā saṃtaranti uta
snehapaṅkam jarādurgam sparśadvīpam arimdam
62. arimdam prajñayā uta saṃtaranti tamaḥkūrmam
rajomīnam snehapaṅkam jarādurgam sparśadvīpam
62. And people indeed cross over this [dreadful realm] by wisdom (prajñā), O subduer of foes, a realm filled with the tortoises of ignorance (tamas) and the fish of passion (rajas), with the mud of attachment, the impassable obstacles of old age, and the islands of sense contact.
