महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-290, verse-44

तेन ज्ञानेन विज्ञाय गतिं चाशुभकर्मणाम् ।
तिर्यग्योनिगतानां च विज्ञाय गतयः पृथक् ॥४४॥
44. tena jñānena vijñāya gatiṁ cāśubhakarmaṇām ,
tiryagyonigatānāṁ ca vijñāya gatayaḥ pṛthak.

tiryagyonigatānām ca vijñāya gatayaḥ pṛthak
44. tena jñānena ca aśubhakarmaṇām gatim vijñāya

44. With that knowledge (jñāna), having understood the destiny of those whose actions (karma) are inauspicious; and having distinctly known the destinies of those who have entered animal births (tiryagyoni).
