O son of Kunti (Kaunteya), tradition (śruti) declares that Sāṃkhya (sāṃkhya) is the manifested form of that formless (reality). Indeed, O best among the Bhāratas (Bharatarṣabha), they say that its distinguishing characteristics constitute its doctrine (mata).
