मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-92

तिष्ठन्त्यब्दसहस्राणि सुबहूनि ततः पुनः ।
जायन्ते मानवाः कुष्ठ-क्षयरोगादिचिह्नताः ॥९२॥
92. tiṣṭhantyabdasahasrāṇi subahūni tataḥ punaḥ .
jāyante mānavāḥ kuṣṭha-kṣayarogādicihnatāḥ.
92. tiṣṭhanti abdasahasrāṇi subahūni tataḥ punaḥ
jāyante mānavāḥ kuṣṭhakṣayarogādicihnatāḥ
92. They remain for many thousands of years. Then, they are reborn as human beings (mānavāḥ) afflicted with signs of leprosy, tuberculosis, and other diseases.
