मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-85

वृकैर्भयङ्करैः पृष्ठं नित्यमस्योपभुज्यते ।
पृष्ठमांसं नृपैतेन यतो लोकस्य भक्षितम् ॥८५॥
85. vṛkairbhayaṅkaraiḥ pṛṣṭhaṃ nityamasyopabhujyate .
pṛṣṭhamāṃsaṃ nṛpaitena yato lokasya bhakṣitam.
85. vṛkaiḥ bhayaṅkaraiḥ pṛṣṭham nityam asya upabhujyate
pṛṣṭhamāṃsam nṛpa etena yataḥ lokasya bhakṣitam
85. O king, his back is constantly devoured by terrifying wolves because he had consumed the flesh (wealth) of the people.
