मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-68

दत्त्वा कन्यां च एकस्मै द्वितीयाय प्रयच्छति ।
स त्वेवं नैकधाच्छिन्नः क्षारनद्यां प्रवाह्यते ॥६८॥
68. dattvā kanyāṃ ca ekasmai dvitīyāya prayacchati .
sa tvevaṃ naikadhācchinnaḥ kṣāranadyāṃ pravāhyate.
68. dattvā kanyām ca ekasmai dvitīyāya prayacchati saḥ
tu evam na ekadhā chinnaḥ kṣāra-nadyām pravāhyate
68. A man who, having given his daughter to one person, then gives her to a second, is indeed cut into many pieces and made to flow in a river of caustic fluid.
