मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-30

चिराद् गुरुतरं तद्वन्महान्तमपि कालजम् ।
एवञ्च सुखदुः खानि पुण्यापुण्योद्भवानि वै ॥३०॥
30. cirād gurutaraṃ tadvanmahāntamapi kālajam .
evañca sukhaduḥ khāni puṇyāpuṇyodbhavāni vai.

evaM ca sukhaduḥkhāni puṇyāpuṇyodbhavāni vai
30. After a long time, [a result] becomes more significant; similarly, even a great [deed] born of time [manifests its effects]. And thus, happiness and suffering indeed arise from good and bad actions (punya and apuṇya).
