मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-72

सुकृतं ये प्रयच्छन्ति यावज्जन्म कृतं नराः ।
ते पिष्यन्ते शिलापेषैर्यथैते पापकर्मिणः ॥७२॥
72. sukṛtaṃ ye prayacchanti yāvajjanma kṛtaṃ narāḥ .
te piṣyante śilāpeṣairyathaite pāpakarmiṇaḥ.
72. sukṛtam ye prayacchanti yāvat janma kṛtam narāḥ
te piṣyante śilāpeṣaiḥ yathā ete pāpakarmaṇaḥ
72. Those men who squander the merit (sukṛta) they have accumulated throughout their lives are crushed by grinding stones, just like these evil-doers (pāpakarmaṇah).
