मार्कण्डेय-पुराणम्       mārkaṇḍeya-purāṇam - chapter-14, verse-84

पश्यतो भृत्यवर्गस्य मित्राणामतिथेस्तथा ।
एको मिष्टान्नभुग् भुङ्क्ते ज्वलदङ्गारसञ्चयम् ॥८४॥
84. paśyato bhṛtyavargasya mitrāṇāmatithestathā .
eko miṣṭānnabhug bhuṅkte jvaladaṅgārasañcayam.
84. paśyataḥ bhṛtyavargasya mitrāṇām atitheḥ tathā
ekaḥ miṣṭānnabhuk bhuṅkte jvaladaṅgārasañcayam
84. A person who eats sweet food alone, while his servants, friends, and guests are watching, is in fact consuming a heap of burning coals (i.e., incurring great suffering).
