महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-122, verse-11

तस्मिन्सन्ने महाराज कृपे शारद्वते युधि ।
अश्वत्थामाप्यपायासीत्पाण्डवेयाद्रथान्तरम् ॥११॥
11. tasminsanne mahārāja kṛpe śāradvate yudhi ,
aśvatthāmāpyapāyāsītpāṇḍaveyādrathāntaram.

aśvatthāmā api apāyāsīt pāṇḍaveyāt rathāntaram
11. maharāja yudhi śāradvate kṛpe tasmin sanne
aśvatthāmā api pāṇḍaveyāt rathāntaram apāyāsīt
11. O great king, when Kṛpa, the son of Śāradvat, was overcome in battle, Aśvatthāmā also retreated to another chariot from the son of Pāṇḍu (Arjuna).
