महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-7, chapter-120, verse-68

अथान्यद्धनुरादाय सूतपुत्रः प्रतापवान् ।
कर्णोऽपि द्विषतां हन्ता छादयामास फल्गुनम् ।
सायकैर्बहुसाहस्रैः कृतप्रतिकृतेप्सया ॥६८॥
68. athānyaddhanurādāya sūtaputraḥ pratāpavān ,
karṇo'pi dviṣatāṁ hantā chādayāmāsa phalgunam ,
sāyakairbahusāhasraiḥ kṛtapratikṛtepsayā.
68. atha anyat dhanuḥ ādāya sūta-putraḥ
pratāpavān karṇaḥ api dviṣatām hantā
chādayām āsa phālgunaṃ sāyakaiḥ

68. Then the mighty son of Sūta, Karṇa, a slayer of his enemies, took up another bow and, desiring retaliation, overwhelmed Phālguna (Arjuna) with thousands of arrows.
