महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-2, verse-73

नित्यमेते हि पश्यन्ति देहिनां देहसंश्रिताः ।
सुकृतं दुष्कृतं चापि कर्म धर्मभृतां वर ॥७३॥
73. nityamete hi paśyanti dehināṁ dehasaṁśritāḥ ,
sukṛtaṁ duṣkṛtaṁ cāpi karma dharmabhṛtāṁ vara.
73. nityam ete hi paśyanti dehinām dehasaṃśritāḥ
sukṛtam duṣkṛtam ca api karma dharmabhṛtām vara
73. dharma-bhṛtām vara ete deha-saṃśritāḥ hi nityam
dehinām sukṛtam ca duṣkṛtam api karma paśyanti
73. O best among those who uphold natural law (dharma), these [entities] residing in the body indeed constantly observe the good and bad actions (karma) of embodied beings.
