महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-2, verse-66

कूटमुद्गरहस्तस्तु मृत्युस्तं वै समन्वयात् ।
हीनप्रतिज्ञमत्रैनं वधिष्यामीति चिन्तयन् ॥६६॥
66. kūṭamudgarahastastu mṛtyustaṁ vai samanvayāt ,
hīnapratijñamatrainaṁ vadhiṣyāmīti cintayan.
66. kūṭamudgarahastaḥ tu mṛtyuḥ tam vai samanvayāt
hīnapratijñam atra enam vadhiṣyāmi iti cintayan
66. tu kūṭamudgarahastaḥ mṛtyuḥ vai tam samanvayāt
atra enam hīnapratijñam vadhiṣyāmi iti cintayan
66. But Death, holding a mace in his hand, approached him, thinking, 'I will kill him here because he has broken his vow'.
