महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-139, verse-55

साध्वन्यमनुपश्य त्वमुपायं प्राणधारणे ।
न मांसलोभात्तपसो नाशस्ते स्यान्महामुने ॥५५॥
55. sādhvanyamanupaśya tvamupāyaṁ prāṇadhāraṇe ,
na māṁsalobhāttapaso nāśaste syānmahāmune.
55. sādhu anyam anupaśya tvam upāyam prāṇadhāraṇe
na māṃsalobhāt tapasaḥ nāśaḥ te syāt mahāmune
55. mahāmune tvam sādhu prāṇadhāraṇe anyam upāyam
anupaśya māṃsalobhāt te tapasaḥ nāśaḥ na syāt
55. O great sage, you should indeed seek another means of sustaining life. Let your austerity (tapas) not be destroyed by a craving for meat.
