महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-139, verse-53

मृगाणामधमं श्वानं प्रवदन्ति मनीषिणः ।
तस्याप्यधम उद्देशः शरीरस्योरुजाघनी ॥५३॥

53. The wise declare a dog to be the lowest among animals. Even lower than a dog is the region of the body, namely the thighs and buttocks.
