महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-12, chapter-139, verse-46

स विसृज्याश्रु नेत्राभ्यां बहुमानात्कृताञ्जलिः ।
उवाच कौशिकं रात्रौ ब्रह्मन्किं ते चिकीर्षितम् ॥४६॥
46. sa visṛjyāśru netrābhyāṁ bahumānātkṛtāñjaliḥ ,
uvāca kauśikaṁ rātrau brahmankiṁ te cikīrṣitam.
46. saḥ visṛjya aśru netrābhyām bahumānāt kṛtāñjaliḥ
uvāca kauśikam rātrau brahman kim te cikīrṣitam
46. He (the caṇḍāla), having shed tears from his eyes out of great respect and having made the reverent gesture (añjali), said to Kauśika (Viśvāmitra) at night, 'O Brāhmaṇa, what is your intention?'
