महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-16, verse-54

प्रियया कान्तया कान्तः पतमान इवोरसि ।
चिरं भुक्त्वा वसुमतीं प्रियां कान्तामिव प्रभुः ।
सर्वैरङ्गैः समाश्लिष्य प्रसुप्त इव सोऽभवत् ॥५४॥
54. priyayā kāntayā kāntaḥ patamāna ivorasi ,
ciraṁ bhuktvā vasumatīṁ priyāṁ kāntāmiva prabhuḥ ,
sarvairaṅgaiḥ samāśliṣya prasupta iva so'bhavat.
54. priyayā kāntayā kāntaḥ patamānaḥ iva
urasi ciram bhuktvā vasumatīm priyām
kāntām iva prabhuḥ sarvaiḥ aṅgaiḥ
samāśliṣya prasuptaḥ iva saḥ abhavat

priyayā kāntayā kāntaḥ urasi
patamānaḥ iva saḥ prasuptaḥ iva abhavat
54. The lord (prabhu), having long enjoyed the earth (vasumatī), embraced it with all his limbs as if it were a dear, beloved wife (kāntā). He lay as if a beloved man (kānta) falling upon the chest of his dear, lovely one (kāntā), and thus he became as if asleep.
