महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-16, verse-14

तयोर्धनुर्ज्यातलनिस्वनो महान्महेन्द्रवज्राशनितुल्यनिस्वनः ।
परस्परं बाणगणैर्महात्मनोः प्रवर्षतोर्मद्रपपाण्डुवीरयोः ॥१४॥

14. As those two great-souled heroes, the king of Madras and the Pāṇḍu warrior, rained down floods of arrows upon each other, a mighty sound arose from the striking of their bowstrings by their palms, a sound comparable to the thunderbolt and lightning of Mahendra (Indra).
