महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-9, chapter-16, verse-5

बाहूंश्चिच्छेद च तथा सायुधान्केतनानि च ।
चकार च महीं योधैस्तीर्णां वेदीं कुशैरिव ॥५॥

5. bāhūṁściccheda ca tathā sāyudhānketanāni ca ,
cakāra ca mahīṁ yodhaistīrṇāṁ vedīṁ kuśairiva.

5. And similarly, he cut off arms along with their weapons, and also banners. He also made the earth strewn with warriors, just as an altar is covered with kuśa grass.
