ततोऽपरेण ज्वलितार्कतेजसा क्षुरेण राज्ञो धनुरुन्ममाथ ।
कृपश्च तस्यैव जघान सूतं षड्भिः शरैः सोऽभिमुखं पपात ॥२३॥

23. tato'pareṇa jvalitārkatejasā; kṣureṇa rājño dhanurunmamātha ,
kṛpaśca tasyaiva jaghāna sūtaṁ; ṣaḍbhiḥ śaraiḥ so'bhimukhaṁ papāta.

23. tataḥ (śalyaḥ) apareṇa jvalita-arka-tejasā

ca kṛpaḥ eva ṣaḍbhiḥ śaraiḥ tasya
sūtam jaghāna saḥ abhimukham papāta

23. Then, with another razor-sharp arrow, blazing with the brilliance of the sun, (Salya) broke the king's (Yudhishthira's) bow. And Kṛpa, with six arrows, killed his (Yudhishthira's) charioteer, who then fell forward.
