58. tato'ntarikṣamutpatya irāvānapi rākṣasam ,
vimohayitvā māyābhistasya gātrāṇi sāyakaiḥ ,

Then, Iravan also, having flown up into the sky and bewildered the demon with his illusions (māyā), cut his limbs with arrows. Iravan was one who knew all vital points, could assume any form at will, and was difficult to overcome.
