महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-93

यद्यद्धर्मेण संयुक्तमुपपद्येद्धितं वचः ।
तत्तत्केशव भाषेथाः सान्त्वं वा यदि वेतरत् ॥९३॥
93. yadyaddharmeṇa saṁyuktamupapadyeddhitaṁ vacaḥ ,
tattatkeśava bhāṣethāḥ sāntvaṁ vā yadi vetarat.
93. yat yat dharmeṇa saṃyuktam upapadyet hitam vacaḥ
tat tat keśava bhāṣethāḥ sāntvam vā yadi vā itarat
93. O Keśava, whatever beneficial words are combined with righteousness (dharma) and are appropriate, those you should speak, whether they are conciliatory or otherwise.
