महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-7

तन्मतं धृतराष्ट्रस्य सोऽस्यात्मा विवृतान्तरः ।
यथोक्तं दूत आचष्टे वध्यः स्यादन्यथा ब्रुवन् ॥७॥
7. tanmataṁ dhṛtarāṣṭrasya so'syātmā vivṛtāntaraḥ ,
yathoktaṁ dūta ācaṣṭe vadhyaḥ syādanyathā bruvan.
7. tat matam dhṛtarāṣṭrasya saḥ asya ātmā vivṛtāntaraḥ
yathā uktam dūtaḥ ācaṣṭe vadhyaḥ syāt anyathā bruvan
7. That is Dhritarashtra's opinion. This messenger is like his own soul (ātman), with his inner thoughts completely revealed to him. The messenger reports exactly as instructed; otherwise, if he speaks differently, he would be punishable by death.
