महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-8

अप्रदानेन राज्यस्य शान्तिमस्मासु मार्गति ।
लुब्धः पापेन मनसा चरन्नसममात्मनः ॥८॥
8. apradānena rājyasya śāntimasmāsu mārgati ,
lubdhaḥ pāpena manasā carannasamamātmanaḥ.

8. While not ceding the kingdom, he seeks peace from us. Greedy and with a wicked mind, he is acting in a manner improper for his own (ātman) nature.
