महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-29

न तथा बाध्यते कृष्ण प्रकृत्या निर्धनो जनः ।
यथा भद्रां श्रियं प्राप्य तया हीनः सुखैधितः ॥२९॥
29. na tathā bādhyate kṛṣṇa prakṛtyā nirdhano janaḥ ,
yathā bhadrāṁ śriyaṁ prāpya tayā hīnaḥ sukhaidhitaḥ.
29. na tathā bādhyate kṛṣṇa prakṛtyā nirdhanaḥ janaḥ
yathā bhadrāṃ śriyaṃ prāpya tayā hīnaḥ sukhaiḥ edhitaḥ
29. O Kṛṣṇa, a person who is naturally poor (prakṛtyā nirdhanaḥ janaḥ) is not tormented as much as one who, having attained excellent prosperity (śrī), later loses it and was previously accustomed to happiness through that prosperity.
