ज्ञातयश्च हि भूयिष्ठाः सहाया गुरवश्च नः ।
तेषां वधोऽतिपापीयान्किं नु युद्धेऽस्ति शोभनम् ॥४५॥

45. jñātayaśca hi bhūyiṣṭhāḥ sahāyā guravaśca naḥ ,
teṣāṁ vadho'tipāpīyānkiṁ nu yuddhe'sti śobhanam.

45. jñātayaḥ ca hi bhūyiṣṭhāḥ sahāyāḥ guravaḥ ca naḥ
teṣām vadhaḥ atipāpīyān kim nu yuddhe asti śobhanam

45. Indeed, many kinsmen, allies, and teachers (guru) belong to us. Their killing is an exceedingly great sin. What good, then, is there in war?
