महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-33

पापकर्मात्ययायैव संकरं तेन पुष्यति ।
संकरो नरकायैव सा काष्ठा पापकर्मणाम् ॥३३॥

33. pāpakarmātyayāyaiva saṁkaraṁ tena puṣyati ,
saṁkaro narakāyaiva sā kāṣṭhā pāpakarmaṇām.

33. pāpakarma-atyayāya eva saṃkaram tena puṣyati
saṃkaraḥ narakāya eva sā kāṣṭhā pāpakarmaṇām

33. Through that (delusion and anger), he only fosters social and moral confusion (saṃkara), which leads to an abundance of sinful actions (karma). This confusion (saṃkara) leads solely to hell; indeed, that is the ultimate extent of sinful actions (karma).
