महाभारतः mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-70, verse-63

न चापि वैरं वैरेण केशव व्युपशाम्यति ।
हविषाग्निर्यथा कृष्ण भूय एवाभिवर्धते ॥६३॥

63. na cāpi vairaṁ vaireṇa keśava vyupaśāmyati ,
haviṣāgniryathā kṛṣṇa bhūya evābhivardhate.

63. na ca api vairam vaireṇa keśava vyupaśāmyati |
haviṣā agniḥ yathā kṛṣṇa bhūyaḥ eva abhivardhate

63. O Keśava, hatred is certainly not extinguished by hatred. Just as fire, O Kṛṣṇa, only grows stronger with an oblation.
