महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-5, chapter-149, verse-32

द्वैरथे विषहेन्नान्यो भीष्मं राजन्महाव्रतम् ।
शिखण्डिनमृते वीरं स मे सेनापतिर्मतः ॥३२॥
32. dvairathe viṣahennānyo bhīṣmaṁ rājanmahāvratam ,
śikhaṇḍinamṛte vīraṁ sa me senāpatirmataḥ.

śikhaṇḍinam ṛte vīram saḥ me senāpatiḥ mataḥ
32. rājan,

32. O King, no one else could withstand Bhishma, who is dedicated to a great vow, in a duel, except for the hero Shikhandin. He is considered by me to be the commander-in-chief.
