महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-155, verse-56

कांश्चिच्छकुनजातांश्च विटपेषूत्कटानपि ।
कलापरचिताटोपान्विचित्रमुकुटानिव ।
विवरेषु तरूणां च मुदितान्ददृशुश्च ते ॥५६॥
56. kāṁścicchakunajātāṁśca viṭapeṣūtkaṭānapi ,
kalāparacitāṭopānvicitramukuṭāniva ,
vivareṣu tarūṇāṁ ca muditāndadṛśuśca te.
56. kān cit śakunajātān ca viṭapeṣu
utkaṭān api kalāparacitāṭopān
vicitramukuṭān iva vivareṣu
tarūṇām ca muditān dadṛśuḥ ca te
56. They also saw certain kinds of birds, prominent among the branches, who had arranged their plumage into magnificent displays, appearing as if adorned with splendid crowns. And they saw others (birds) joyful within the hollows of the trees.
