मेघमालामिव मरुद्व्यालो नीलाब्जिनीमिव ।
यामिनीमिव तीक्ष्णांशुस्तामप्याशु लुलाव सः ॥ ४८ ॥

yāminīmiva tīkṣṇāṃśustāmapyāśu lulāva saḥ 48

48. meghamālām iva marudvyālaḥ nīlābjinīm iva
yāminīm iva tīkṣṇāṃśuḥ tām api āśu lulāva saḥ

48. saḥ tām api āśu lulāva (yathā) marudvyālaḥ meghamālām iva,
(yathā kīṭaḥ) nīlābjinīm iva,
(yathā) tīkṣṇāṃśuḥ yāminīm iva.

48. He (the observer) also swiftly dispelled that sleep, just as a strong wind disperses a mass of clouds, or as (a powerful force would destroy) a pond of blue lotuses, or as the fierce-rayed sun consumes the night.
