वाल्मीकि-रामायणम्       vālmīki-rāmāyaṇam - book-6, chapter-57, verse-52

वानरान् वानरैरेव जग्नुस्ते रजनीचराः ।
राक्षसान् राक्षसैरेव जघ्नुस्ते वानरा अपि ॥५२॥
52. vānarān vānaraireva jagnuste rajanīcarāḥ ,
rākṣasān rākṣasaireva jaghnuste vānarā api.

rākṣasān rākṣasaiḥ eva jaghnuḥ te vānarāḥ api
52. te rajanīcarāḥ vānaraiḥ eva vānarān jagnuḥ te

52. The night-wanderers (rākṣasas) killed monkey warriors by using monkey warriors themselves. Likewise, the monkey warriors also killed rākṣasas by using rākṣasas themselves.
