महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-3, chapter-198, verse-81

शुभानामशुभानां च कर्मणां फलसंचये ।
विपाकमभिजानन्ति ते शिष्टाः शिष्टसंमताः ॥८१॥
81. śubhānāmaśubhānāṁ ca karmaṇāṁ phalasaṁcaye ,
vipākamabhijānanti te śiṣṭāḥ śiṣṭasaṁmatāḥ.
81. śubhānām aśubhānām ca karmaṇām phala-sañcaye
vipākam abhijānanti te śiṣṭāḥ śiṣṭa-saṃmatāḥ
81. Those disciplined individuals, who are esteemed by other disciplined people, understand the ripening of the accumulated results of both auspicious and inauspicious actions (karma).
