महाभारतः       mahābhārataḥ - book-13, chapter-95, verse-69

वर्षान्करोतु भृतको राज्ञश्चास्तु पुरोहितः ।
अयाज्यस्य भवेदृत्विग्बिसस्तैन्यं करोति यः ॥६९॥
69. varṣānkarotu bhṛtako rājñaścāstu purohitaḥ ,
ayājyasya bhavedṛtvigbisastainyaṁ karoti yaḥ.

ayājyasya bhavet ṛtvik bisastainyam karoti yaḥ

69. May he who commits the theft of lotus stems serve as a hired laborer for years, and may he be a royal chaplain (purohita) to a king. May he also become an officiating priest (ṛtvik) for one who is unworthy of Vedic rituals.
