यास्मि सास्म्यनुयोगो मे न कर्तव्यः कथंचन ।
आरक्षिणीं मां पद्मिन्या वित्त सर्वे तपोधनाः ॥२१॥

yāsmi sāsmyanuyogo me na kartavyaḥ kathaṁcana ,
ārakṣiṇīṁ māṁ padminyā vitta sarve tapodhanāḥ.

The female demon (yātudhāni) said: 'What I am, that I am. My identity should not be questioned at all. All you ascetics (tapodhana), know me as the guardian of this lotus pond.'
